COVID-19Safety Policy

At Fraser Eye Care Center, your health and safety is always our top priority. As we navigate updates to safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to keep you updated on what we’re doing to keep you and our staff safe, while visiting our offices in the Metro Detroit area. We are following the guidance of the CDC, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.1,2 Despite recent changes from the CDC as of 05/13/21, we ask that you continue to respect and follow our safety protocols outlined below.

Our Comprehensive Health and Safety Plan

In addition to maintaining our regular safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices, such as frequent and thorough handwashing, here are some additional steps in place at all Fraser Eye Care locations:

  • Masks will still be required for all staff and patients in our offices. If you have a medical reason for not wearing a mask or face shield, please call us prior to arriving at our offices, so that we may accommodate you.
  • Extra cleaning including deep sanitation throughout the day
  • Touchless hand sanitizer stations in all waiting rooms and throughout the building
  • Increased protective gear for doctors and staff
  • All pens and clipboards will be disinfected between uses
  • The number of people in the waiting room will remain limited, to allow for adequate social distancing. We ask that all loved ones remain in the car during your appointment unless they are there to provide assistance.

What You Need to Know Before Scheduling an Eye Appointment

In order to continue to minimize the spread of COVID-19:

  • We are offering virtual appointments for non-urgent care. Our telehealth system allows you to have LASIK consultations, follow-ups, and many other types of appointments from the comfort of your home. Learn more and schedule a virtual visit.
  • You will need to reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing symptoms such as a cough or fever, or if you have been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19.
