Criteria | Procedure for BOTOX
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a quick and minimally invasive procedure. An ophthalmologist at Fraser Eye Care Center and the Eye Care Center of Port Huron makes a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause moderate to severe frown lines between the patient’s brows.
The ophthalmologist will determine exactly where to administer the injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required, although the doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting.
The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes, and there is no downtime afterward. Discomfort is minimal and brief. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with any injection.
Results from BOTOX® Cosmetic can be seen within days after the treatment. The appearance of the area between the brows may continue to improve for up to a week.
To qualify for BOTOX® Cosmetic procedures patients should:
- at least 21 years of age
- understand the risks and rewards from BOTOX® Cosmetic
